HOW DOES A SPRAY TAN WORK?

The active ingredient in HMtan’s solution is DHA (dihydroxyacetone), which creates a sun-kissed appearance by reacting with the proteins in the outermost layer of your skin. This process, much like how a sliced apple browns when exposed to air, produces a beautiful tan in just 2–4 hours.

The depth of your tan depends on the DHA concentration and your unique skin characteristics. Your glow will last 5–7 days and fade naturally as your skin exfoliates.

HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN SHOWER?

For best results, avoid showering for 16 hours after your session. If necessary, wait at least 6 hours and rinse with water only—soap interferes with DHA development. Keep in mind, the cosmetic bronzer visible right after application will rinse off in the shower, leaving your true tan underneath.

CARING FOR YOUR TAN

To maintain your glow:

• Avoid tight clothing immediately after your session to prevent the bronzer from transferring.
• Choose darker, loose-fitting clothing post-tan for comfort and to protect fabrics.
• Stay hydrated to slow exfoliation and keep your skin radiant.

While HMtan's bronzers are water-soluble and wash out of most fabrics, certain materials like silk or spandex may stain. Always rinse skin and clothing immediately if contact occurs.
